I wanted to introduce myself . My name is Kelli Lemay and I am a native New Yorker, who has lived in several states. My family and I miss our relatives on the East Coast, but have fallen in love with California. I have lived here for three years. My husband and I are blessed with two teenagers and a large chocolate lab.
I hold a BA in history, and my teaching credential in social science. I am a certified catechist as well. I am excited to be at St. Pius V and begin your children's spiritual and historical journey this year. We have so much to explore and accomplish.
In 6th grade we will be studying ancient societies including their religions. This ties in well with our study of the Old Testament in religion. In religion we also will be increasing students knowledge of Salvation History, in order to respond to God with ever-deepening love and gratitude.
In 7th grade we will be studying medieval societies and their religions. In religion besides studying the New Testament, we will be studying God's saving love as it is revealed through his son, Jesus. This program helps your child grow in knowledge of Jesus to love him more ardently and serve him more generously.
In 8th grade we will prepare our students to understand and appreciate the United States, by examining our country's beginnings, growth and conflicts. In religion your child will grow in knowledge and love of the Church. We will accomplish this by studying God's faithful love as it is revealed in the Church founded by Jesus Christ.
My job is to teach and guide your students in their journey. In all classes, I will focus on geography skill, tolerance and respect for the different cultures and religions around the world and helping students practice and live our Catholic faith.
Please feel free to email me with any questions! I look forward to meeting you and your students!!
