A Message from Sandra Lewis, Principal of St. Pius V Catholic School
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to St. Pius V Catholic School for the 2010 – 2011 school year. The school’s mission statement emphasizes that we, the administration, faculty and staff, will join with our parents in building God’s kingdom through the intellectual and spiritual education of our students. Guided by our faith in Christ, sustained by our hope for the coming of His kingdom, and empowered by our love for each other and for God, we seek to prepare our students to respond to the multiple challenges that they will face today and in the future. Each student is a unique creation of God and that uniqueness is what makes each student so special and an important part of our faith community!
The National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) has chosen “A+ for America” as the theme for Catholic schools this year. Our focus will be to celebrate the fact that Catholic schools across the nation are an added value to society. Catholic schools traditionally establish high academic standards that are supported by strong moral values. This provides a positive contribution to the American society. Christian service is stressed to all students and contributions are made to the local community, as well as, reaching out to other communities and nations in times of need. The idea of “giving back to the community” and “helping others” are values that every Catholic school student learns. In summary, Catholic schools give a strong academic and moral foundation which allows the students to succeed in life no matter what career choice they make.
The administration, faculty, and staff pray that the days spent at St. Pius V Catholic School this year provide an enriching foundation in faith, knowledge, morals and discipline for our students.
Blessings,
Mrs. Sandra M. Lewis
Principal
